So Long Summer

Well considering our weather over the past week I think it is about time to close the book on Summer. It was great while it lasted but now its over for another year. And so, it is also time to call an end to no. 9 of my 10 for ’10. The goal was to eat something I’ve grown from seed myself and I can honestly say I stuff myself with all the lovely, sweet cherry tomatoes that grew in the window boxes of my apartment. There were so many and infact there still are so many, but alas, no new flowers. So that will be the end of my tomatoes for this year. It was a great adventure, and I think I have even converted Mr. A to the notion (he doted over them even more than me).

Next year perhaps a new challenge? Lettuce? Peas? Marrows? Watermelons?? Plenty of time to decide.

My challenge is my strength. So I planted veggies in containers this year. My harvest might not have been large by conventional stardards, but it rocked in my book.

Congratulations and grow more stuff. Lettuce is very easy and it likes to be planted early. That’s a win/win situation, I think.
