You’re going to think I’m nuts (in fact sometimes I consider that myself), but a few months back, in my foodie magazine there was an offer for a few potato grow bag and 5 tubers. All you had to pay was the P&P. Yes please. So I filled out the form and thought not much more of it until it arrived a few months later.

Then came this green canvas shopper-like thing and 5 little baby potatoes. Was I or wasn’t I going to try it or was I going to give it to some more deserving person with an actual garden. Sod it, no. They were mine. I love potatoes and growing them in an apartment? No problem! And turns out – everything is going fine. I have my grow bag filled with lovely compost, and lots of potato shoots sprouting out the top. But I don’t harvest ’til July (I think…) so that is going to be the real test. Fingers crossed!
