Something very unusual happened the other night. The urge to sew came over me. This is a rare event indeed. Not that I don’t like sewing, it’s just that I am not at all good at it. I’ll start a project with the greatest of hopes and my lack of skill will enrage me to such a point that the whole thing ends up in the bin. Humph. But I always go back for more.
I found that most wonderful tutorial for sleep shorts and I embarked on another sewing adventure. I had some sweet fat quarters stashed away. Unfortunately the scraps I had were just a few cm too small. So a fast change of plan was needed. Looking at my vase and jam jars stuffed with needles, I decided it. It was time for my needles to experience a little luxury. I was going to make a needle roll.
I pretty much winged the design but afterwards I came accross a really good step by step tutorial. The only thing I would do differently would be to use some wadding between your pieces of fabric so that your roll retains shape and it gives the roll a lovely fullness. And my second recommendation would be to sew your needle pockets first. Whoops, forgot that one. Thats a project for infront of the TV. Oh well. I’ll give you a look when I finally finish. Happy sewing everyone!
